Five large structures welcome attendees to an international robotic and intelligent equipment exhibition.

Although the Chinese economy has slowed recently, the event and exhibition market is growing quickly, with 40-meter, 50-meter and 60-meter-wide tents in demand for high-end, large-scale events.

Tent manufacturer KENTEN Multitent Co. Ltd. of Guangzhou, China, competed with several local event suppliers to install temporary halls for a major event in mid-September: the 2nd International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Exhibition.

Set along the peaceful Pearl River in Foshan New City, Guangdong province, the exhibition called for five halls, each more than 3,000 square meters. With two weeks for installation, KENTEN erected four 50-by-65-by-6-meter clearspan tents and one 30-by-120-by-8-meter structure. The company also provided lighting, flooring, carpets and air conditioning.

“The main challenge to us is not the scale of exhibition at all, because KENTEN sets up more than 700,000 square meters every year,” says Fengying Guo, operations director of KENTEN. “We made a new product for this exhibition, a 30-meter-wide with 8-meter eave height thermal roof double-decker tent with an extremely large advertising board—over 720 square meters. This tent is the main entrance of the exhibition. We successfully overcame all issues in a short time with our experienced teams of design, production and installation.”

KENTEN has offered tent rental and manufacturing for more than 16 years, and for the last seven years has seized on the growing opportunity to supply tents with spans of up to 60 meters.

Because this was the first time the event was held at this site, the organizers set a high bar for following all regulations and attention to detail throughout the process. KENTEN had a five-person team available to respond to all requests and handle any issues that arose. The exhibition host offered high praise for the temporary structures, which helped to increase the size of the exhibition space.
