A&R Tarpaulins Inc., Fontana, Calif., manufacturers of SKP® high strength fabric repair tape, was a finalist for the 2010 Spirit of the Entrepreneur Award.
The eighth annual Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards were given in seven categories. Nominations started with 159 companies, and A&R was one of three finalists in the 2010 Innovative Entrepreneur Award category.
After continued growth in the United States, A&R began exporting SKP to Singapore this year. The company plans to continue expanding its global reach to other markets through online sales and with its product diversity.
“We manufacture a variety of fabric products,” says Bud Weisbart, A&R vice president. “We don’t just stick to tarps and truck patches; under our AR Tech and AR Industries brands, we engineer aerospace and architectural fabric products. This diversity has been instrumental in our continued global success, despite the economy.”
