Through uncertain times, InTents remains committed to keeping you informed.
I am the new editor of InTents magazine, but I am not new to Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) and the textile industry. I began my editorial career at IFAI in 2015 working on Specialty Fabrics Review, IFAI’s flagship publication, covering numerous textile markets, suppliers and end product makers. I have attended four IFAI Expos, a TRD boot camp sponsored by ARA of Minnesota and I have tuned in to many educational webinars focused on the tent rental industry. I have a master’s degree in creative writing, I am a published book author and I currently serve on the board of directors for the Minnesota Media and Publishing Association.
Jill Lafferty, the longtime editor of InTents, has assumed the position of senior editor of Specialty Fabrics Review. As Jill and I transition into our new editorial roles, I plan to work closely with her to continue meeting our readers’ standards for the best and most innovative practices and trends in the tents and events world.
The June/July issue of InTents always carries a wedding theme. While weddings may be a customary topic for InTents, there is nothing ho hum about how we approached this issue. Learn what it takes to master in-demand weddings styles to build your company’s reputation as an expert vendor (see page 18), and wow your clients with luxury restroom trailers designed to impress (see page 26).
Our readers know that the past three months have not been business as usual, and many companies find themselves facing new challenges. See how the industry is responding to pandemic-related cancellations
(page 6) and learn the best practices for cleaning tents used at COVID-19 sites (page 38). And, for more information to help you navigate these challenging times, be sure to visit IFAI’s COVID-19 Resource Center at www.ifai.com/covid-19.
