Milestone purchases Aztec and Shaffer

Milestone Capital recently announced that it has purchased Aztec Events & Tents (Houston, Texas) and Shaffer Sports & Events (Birmingham, Ala.).

Milestone, a private equity group based in Houston, is headed by A. Kelly Williams and Michael P. Hanks. A press release from Milestone said that Williams and Hanks plan to work with all current employees and management teams to continue the operations of the two businesses.

Aztec was started in the late 1960s and has been owned and operated by Todd Johnson for 20 years. The company builds tents, hospitality structures, and supplies party provisions for events in the Houston area.

Shaffer Sports provides tents and other hospitality structures and supplies party provisions for PGA and Champions Tour golf tournaments as well as auto and horse racing events.

Williams and Hanks said, “Aztec and Shaffer have been the number one in their respective industries for a very long time … Being able to take over the companies and work with Todd Johnson is quite an honor and a privilege. We can’t wait to get to work with the management team and develop plans for the future.”
