De Boer has won an Innovation Award at the 2007 Performance Textiles Association (Pertexa) Awards for its double-decker Emperor structure. The Emperor debuted at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany, showcasing an arched roof with covered viewing balconies. Some of the Emperor’s traditional aluminum frames were replaced with wood to provide a much warmer feel to the bare structure. De Boer also picked up a Highly Commended award from Pertexa for its Pink Galaxy structure created for a breast cancer charity.
