Mike Hall, founder of AAdvantage Tent Fittings in Pleasant Valley, Ohio, took home the Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2007 from the Chillicothe, Ohio, chamber of commerce. In 1991, Hall acquired Phillips Rent-All, but found that there was something lacking in tent installation technology. “I saw some flaws in the tents and I thought I could do better,” Hall said. AAdvantage Tent Fittings has grown quickly and is now affiliated with Eureka! Tents. Hall’s company supplies the U.S. military with wood stakes for tents that shelter soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
