Tent Conference 2020: Worth it!

Editorial | December 1, 2019 | By:

Can you afford not to attend Tent Conference 2020?

The best reason I can give you to attend Tent Conference 2020 in January comes courtesy of an awning fabricator.

At IFAI Expo 2019 in Orlando, Fla., I had the pleasure of sitting in on an educational session on graphics for the small- to medium-sized awning manufacturer, led by Bill McSpadden, owner of Capitol Awning of Richmond, Va. McSpadden began his session by asking attendees how much they spent attending IFAI Expo. There’s no doubt that travel, hotel, registration and dining out add up, not to mention lost time in the office.

McSpadden posed the question because his goal was that attendees leave his session with information that saves them at least as much money as they spent to attend IFAI Expo by avoiding expensive mistakes. If an attendee makes up that much money in one educational session, everything else—the networking with peers, the deals on the trade show floor, the discovery of new suppliers—is the cherry on top of the ice cream.

The educational sessions at Tent Conference promise the same kinds of valuable information, including topics such as using GPS tracking for more efficient deliveries, RFID for inventory management, safe anchoring to keep your tents from blowing away and a discussion around labor resources. There will also be lots of fun at Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo at River Ranch, Fla.—including a rodeo, an old-fashioned cookout and mechanical bull riding! See page 9 for information.

Before you pack your spurs and your lasso, be sure to vote on the 2020 InTents Buyer’s Guide cover. Check out the finalists on InTents’ Facebook page Dec. 9–13 and give your favorite cover a “like,” “love,” or “wow.”

See you at Tent Conference! With any luck, Santa will leave a new pair of cowboy boots for me under the Christmas tree.
