Flooring on the go

News | | By:

Providing portable, custom flooring for a traveling event can be complicated because the look needs to stay the same but the surface it has to cover can change wildly from city to city, says Dave Walens, president of Brumark Total Flooring Solutions in Atlanta, Ga. Gone are the days when clients usually opted for some type of artificial turf or indoor-outdoor carpet. These days, hardwood floors, often with inlaid patterns, are more in demand.

“We get hit with all different types of requests and problems that need to be overcome,” says James Zacharias, senior account manager. “We have solutions for snow, grass, parking lots, the beach, trade show floors, whatever a company needs.” In addition to surface considerations, flooring that travels often needs to be very lightweight and capable of packing into something small. “Once it arrives, we go out and make sure the guys know how to install it the most efficient way to save time, money and labor.”
