Stamford creates magical wedding day

IFAI’s International Achievement Awards (IAA) recognize the skills that drive excellence in the tent industry. Here’s one submission to the 2017 IAA competition that highlights the complexity of a project with a tight timeline.

Stamford Tent & Event Services, Stamford, Conn., completed a 15,000-square-foot, multi-tent project with an attached lounge and raised hardwood floor for a large celebrity wedding.

The client needed a space for dining, dancing and an after-party lounge with a porch for 450 guests at OHEKA Castle, a historic hotel on Long Island, N.Y. Stamford’s crew was not allowed to start construction until the Monday morning before the wedding, and the lighting and decor vendors needed the structures to be substantially complete by end of day Tuesday. The crew could only work during normal business hours, and with room for only one vehicle to load in at a time, the production team created a schedule for equipment to be loaded and delivered exactly when needed.

The client was ecstatic with the results, and all of the vendors worked in harmony to create a very magical day.
