InTents is turning 25—and with the help of our readers, we’re awarding the manufacturers and suppliers that advance the industry.
Where was your business in 1992? Are you among the InTents readers whose companies were already more than 100 years old? Or in the early 1990s, was your business only pipe dream—or maybe not even a dream at all, yet?
If you need to go down memory lane to picture 1992, here is a refresher: We were watching “The Silence of the Lambs,” jumping to Kris Kross and wearing Zubaz. (Well, some folks were wearing Zubaz.) Grunge hit the mainstream, and, just like this year, the Super Bowl was played in Minneapolis. And InTents magazine was launched.
In 2018, InTents is celebrating 25 years as your complete source for events in tents. Many of you have already helped us kick off the celebration by casting votes in the first ever InTents Reader’s Choice Awards. The awards—25 of them, naturally —honor the manufacturers and suppliers who, year after year, offer innovative products that make event rental and tent installation easier, safer and more professional. Among the winners, at least one—tent manufacturer Anchor Industries—was a centenarian in 1992, and another, furniture supplier Palmer Snyder, is approaching that milestone now. Others, such as Tent OX, are, by comparison, brand new, but have managed to revolutionize the task of tent installation in a few short years.
