General Rental acquires Event Central

General Rental Sales & Service of Avondale, Pa. has acquired Event Central Rental and Sales of Mechanicsburg, Pa. The acquisition, described in an April press release, said that the purchase was part of General Rental’s strategic growth plan to expand the company’s special events rental operations into central Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Eric Schuibbeo, owner of General Rental, said the company is excited about the acquisition of Event Central and the planned expansion. “We look forward to opening these new markets together and moving the organization to the next level,” Schuibbeo said.

The press release noted that Event Central was founded in 1987 by Scott Woodruff as a Taylor Rental franchise. Today, it is a party and event rental company serving Harrisburg and central Pennsylvania.

Woodruff will remain available to Event Central on a consulting basis while he shifts his focus to his own entrepreneurial business venture, Tent Ox, a system of 10 specialized tools designed for the tent and party rental industry.
