Nearly 600 tent rental professionals gathered in Orlando, Fla., to attend the annual Tent Expo hosted by IFAI’s Tent Rental Division (TRD). The event began with TRD Boot Camp: Training for the Tent Professional, along with a golf tournament. Educational sessions focused on code advocacy, inspections, safety and workers’ compensation.
The show consisted of 58 booth exhibitors and 21 tent displays. Over 75,000 square feet of the Turtle Parking Lot at SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla., was covered by tented structures, including a two-story tent. Attendance was at a high this year, coming in at 565 attendees.
Company and individual honors were presented at an awards luncheon where Tom Markel of Bravo Events Expos Displays and Brian Richardson of L & A Tent Rentals Inc. were given Outstanding Volunteer Awards for their work on the steering committee.
Carpas y Lonas El Carrusel S.A. de C.V won both the Outstanding Achievement Award and Award of Excellence in the Tent Manufacturing and Design category.
The Corporate Tent Rental category included three top honors: Eventstar Structures Corp. won the Outstanding Achievement Award and an Award of Excellence, and Arena Americas won a second Award of Excellence.
In the Private Tent Rental category, Eventstar Structures Corp. won the Outstanding Achievement Award and All Occasions Event Rental received the Award of Excellence.
