Here’s a taste of what partygoers will be noshing on at this season’s get-togethers.
Mini-meals. Tiny foods are topping the charts for favorite event foods. Caterers and chefs will undoubtedly be preparing everything pint-sized this winter, from mini hors d’oeuvres to petite puddings to little spoonfuls of tasty toppings.
Sushi. Interactive “bar” experiences such as sushi or dessert bars are the latest event phenomenon.
Martinis. The classic drink is set to enjoy a revival this holiday season. Festive favorites, such as cranberry champagne and the Christmas Cosmo, will also keep eventgoers warm in winter weather.
Chocolate. Holiday parties wouldn’t be the same without some kind of chocolate, but fountains are falling behind to trendier nibbles, such as unusual gourmet truffles.
Desserts. Parties focusing on sweets are becoming a good way to accommodate busy holiday schedules; the later time allows people to attend cocktail parties or formal dinners beforehand.
