For its 2020 Awards for Excellence competition, the Outdoor Fabric Products Association of New Zealand (OFPANZ) announced Mount Maunganui, New Zealand-based Baytex as winner in the category of tents, marquees and inflated structures.

Baytex’s entry, the Hampton pole tent, is a new product for the company. The tent combines a traditional pole marquee with the performance of a fully engineered tensile membrane. For ease of use, adaptability and cleaning, the tent can be used as a one pole (9.7 by 9.7 meters), two pole (9.7 by 15.7 meters, 6-meter midsection) or a three pole (9.7 by 21.2 meters, 12-meter midsection). Sold only in Ferrari F402 Champagne, the fire-retardant fabric is specially treated to prevent moisture wicking. According to Baytex, the Hampton pole tent has proven to be a popular choice for rental companies in New Zealand and Australia.

The 2020 Awards for Excellence program offers OFPANZ members a chance to showcase design excellence, technical skill and innovation to other members and the entire industry. Entries are judged by appearance, workmanship, complexity, design, innovation, function and environmental awareness. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s award ceremony was held virtually on Aug. 26.
