Dubin Clark, with offices in Boston and Jacksonville, Fla., a private equity firm focused on building niche market leaders in the lower middle market, announced one of its portfolio companies, Curated Events, has acquired Sugarplum Tent Co., Boyds, Md. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1990, Sugarplum Tent Co. is a full-service provider of long- and short-term tent rentals for weddings, corporate events, and other special events throughout Maryland and the eastern shore, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Sugarplum provides many different styles of high-end tenting including sailcloth, clear, white and a new state-of-the-art garden tent, as well as under-the-tent offerings of flooring, staging and lighting.
“Sugarplum Tent Co. has been on our radar for years. When the opportunity developed to potentially acquire the business, I knew this would be a great fit with our Curated Events platform,” said Brent Paris, managing partner, Dublin Clark.

Barbi Richardson, and her late husband, Davis, founded Sugarplum Tent Co. 30 years ago.
