The SEARCH Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to event professionals during times of crisis, announces the appointment of its 2012 board of directors.

Sitting on the board’s executive committee are Joann Roth-Oseary, chairwoman, Someone’s in the Kitchen; David Fischette, first vice chairman, GO West Creative; Sasha Souza, secretary, Sasha Souza Events; Larry Green, treasurer, Rentals Unlimited; and Rick Turner, Event Source.

Other board members are Tony Conway, A Legendary Event; Richard LoGuercio, Town & Country Event Rentals; Janet Elkins, EventWorks; Pauline Hoogmoed, Catersource/Event Solutions; Jason Brown, All Occasions Party Rental; Kelly Dolan, Johnson & Johnson; Joella Hopkins, Simply Mumtaz Events; Kim Romano, Penton Media; and Erika Lohmar, GO West Creative.

Chairwoman Roth-Oseary predicts that 2012 will be a year of change for the special events industry.

“All signs are pointing to 2012 as the year our industry will turn itself around and we’ll see the amount of events increase across the country,” she says. “The SEARCH Foundation remains ever-focused on providing our peers and colleagues with opportunities for assistance. Our energy throughout the tough times has shown our industry that we are there for them and that we stand together.”

In 2012, the SEARCH Foundation goals will be supported through fundraising events and, most critically, a capital campaign that is in process.
