Severe storms preceded two tent collapses that have resulted in injuries in the last week.

A hospitality tent collapsed in severe weather at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia on Aug. 13, sending three people to the hospital with moderate to serious injuries, including a 9-year-old boy. All three have been released, according to the Sedalia Democrat.

At a Carter Lake area campground in Colorado, the support pole of a large army-style structure snapped when wind picked up during a thunderstorm on Aug. 16, according to the Coloradoan. The pole struck and partially amputated a man’s leg, according to Roylene Sterkel of the Loveland Fire Community Safety Division. Two others sustained less serious injuries.
