Burtin Polymer spray foam insulation products for tents and shelters approved by U.S. Army

Burtin Polymer Laboratories, Cartersville, Ga., announces that BPL 1445 Series Resin and BPL 1445 Series Iso have met the criteria for spray-applied foam plastic insulation of the International Code Council and now meet or exceed multiple known military toxicity clearance, compliance and safety certifications for use specified by the U.S. Army. The spray foam insulation products are designed for use on military tents, shelters and other temporary structures.

Spray foam insulation is produced by a chemical reaction when two liquid components are combined, thus creating a rigid or semi-rigid foam as it expands. Once cured it solidifies becoming polyurethane foam. For the military, the foam will work to reduce energy consumption and assist with climate control in field, especially in operational Afghanistan and Iraq and where noise reduction is a concern.
