Fred Findlay, former longtime owner of Regina Tent & Awning in Regina, British Columbia, Canada, has died at the age of 83.

The Regina Leader-Post reports that Findlay returned home to Regina from the Second World War to help run Regina Tent & Awning with his father. The company was founded in the late 1890s, and Findlay’s father purchased it in the mid-1930s.

Findlay took over managing the business from his father in 1965, and then sold the business to his two sons, Duncan and Grant, when he retired in 1978.
