Event photographs are the centerpiece of any virtual showroom, but they can benefit the installation crew too.

“Our photographs have had a big impact on quality,” says Joe Del Grosso, director of organizational development at Camelot Party Rentals Inc., Sparks, Nev. “Our delivery crews know that they may have their setups photographed, and we’ve seen improvements in the way they take care of the details of a job. That has led to higher customer satisfaction and better word of mouth.”

The company goes out of its way to make installers feel that they’re part of the Camelot story, he says. Rather than a “big brother” spy program, it’s a tool everyone can use to improve workmanship.

“We look at the photos after the fact and say, ‘Hey, the tent top is a little dirty’ or ‘The ropes weren’t tight enough,’” he says. “It’s really raised our awareness of doing a good job.”
