Tharpe honored by ARA

Michael Tharpe, director of sales at TopTec Event Tents, Moore, S.C., received the Special Service Award at The Rental Show in New Orleans, La., earlier this month. Tharpe was selected due to his considerable contributions to the industry through his involvement in the American Rental Association (ARA).

Tharpe has participated in ARA events since 1989 at both the state and national level. He has provided knowledge and insight to the rental industry through his involvement in tent and event workshops, ARA committees and several task forces. He has made countless presentations on tent training and staking, and he served on the ARA board of directors from 2009 to 2011 as associate director.

Tharpe is also a frequent contributor to InTents magazine and active in the Tent Rental Division of Industrial Fabrics Association International.

  I have watched Michael volunteer for MATRA for as long as I have attended the show. A real good guy!
