M&M Event Rentals, Carol Stream, Ill., has recapitalized Marquee Event Group, Austin, Texas. This strategic acquisition is the sixth since partnering with Dubin Clark & Co. Inc. in February 2016. Terms were not disclosed.
Prior acquisitions for M&M include:
- Celebration Event Rental, Grand Prairie, Texas
- All Seasons Event Rental, Kansas City, Kan.
- AAA Rental System, Markham, Ill.
- Classic Party Rentals’ operations in Chicago, Ill.; Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Ga.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Memphis, Tenn.
“The acquisition of Marquee Event Group, and their presence in the Austin and San Antonio markets, coupled with our current Dallas business, fits our strategy of expanding the M&M capabilities and offerings across the state of Texas,” said Mark Murphy, CEO of M&M, in a press release.
With the acquisition, Damon W. Holditch, president of Marquee Event Group, will retire. “I have enjoyed 32 wonderful years building Marquee and investing in the Austin community and it has been a complete joy!” Holditch said. “I appreciate all those who have worked to build Marquee and the event community of Austin and San Antonio. Our clients will continue to be supported with top level service.”
