When Canadian airline WestJet decided to throw a holiday party for families affected by the devastating 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire, the Calgary, Alberta-based company turned to Warner Shelter Systems Ltd. for a space to host the hundreds of families who had lost their homes. More than 800 guests enjoyed the WestJet Snowflake Soirée in late November 2016 under a WSSL 56-by-163-foot clearspan with 14-foot legs and clear endwalls. The installation required three days in temperatures around -5 degrees Fahrenheit. As a highlight to the evening, WestJet parachuted Christmas ornaments from the sky that contained free airline vouchers.
